Public Safety
Customer Service & Safety Liaisons
Liaisons provide a pleasant and safe environment for our visitors as they travel to and from the Concourse and Lower Levels while accessing the escalators. Activities include: Provide escalator safety recommendations for families with strollers, provide safety instructions when a visitor uses an escalator in an unsafe manner and thank visitors for their patronage.
Qualifications: Excellent customer service which ensures a safe environment, professional communication skills and able to stand for a duration of time at various escalator points on entry.

Cincinnati History Museum
Cincinnati History Museum Exhibit Guide
The Cincinnati History Museum is recruiting volunteers who share our passionate belief in Museum Center’s mission to inspire people of all ages to understand and appreciate regional history, as well as stimulate curiosity and promote enjoyment of learning. Applicants should be willing to aid visitors, interpret exhibits and facilitate learning in all areas, and to learn via training and ongoing professional development opportunities. Volunteers should be focused on providing excellent customer service, which includes engaging communication skills with people of all ages, as well as being friendly, helpful and energetic. A background in history and/or education is a plus but not required. Training is required.
Shift times:
Sundays during museum hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Duke Energy Children's Museum
Exhibit Interpreter
Volunteers in the Children's Museum interact with visitors in exhibit areas, facilitate educational activities, assist in monitoring safety and stimulate curiosity and learning in a fun environment. A friendly, warm personality is needed, along with the ability to work in a busy setting. Experience working with young children or a background in early education is a plus, but not a necessity.
Shift times:
Fridays- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m.
Sundays- 1 to 6 p.m.
Museum of Natural History & Science
Volunteer Exhibit Guide
Main responsibility in Museum of Natural History & Science is to ensure that all museum guests have a satisfying, educational, enjoyable and safe experience. You will obtain a general knowledge of, and interpret MNH&S exhibits and science floor demonstrations. Will also be expected to assist with the L.I.T.E Lab (Learning, Innovation, Technology, Engineering Lab) by facilitating self-guided and hands on challenges. Assisting in research and development of programs as needed.
Qualifications:
Background in science education, geology, environmental studies, biology, paleontology, math, physics, chemistry, or equivalent is required. Must be out-going, friendly, and energetic and have a positive attitude. Desire and ability to work with the public, particularly school groups and families, in an informal education environment is required. Desire and ability to teach, present, and facilitate learning in an informal education environment is required. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting is a must. Must possess excellent communication and good listening, mediating and organizational skills. Knowledge of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana State education standards is helpful when assisting in research and development of programs as needed. Candidate should be able to stand or sit for at least one hour or more. Candidate should also be able to walk up and down two flights of stairs and navigate floors that are uneven and/or ramped. Occasional lifting of programs supplies, office supplies, and exhibit items is required. Items may weigh 10 pounds or more.
Shift Times:
Monday through Saturday- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 1 to 5 p.m.
Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 2 to 6 p.m.

Greeters will welcome visitors to Museum Center, tell them about the day’s activities and direct them to our Passport Program orientation table. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Passport Activity volunteers will assist visitors with completing a simple task in order to get a stamp on their passport. This is a seated position.
Craft Assistants will assist visitors with cultural related crafts. Must be able to stand and move around easily.
Setup and Cleanup Volunteers will help vendors load-in and out and help arrange furniture. Must be able to lift and carry things.
Shift times/Positions:
Saturday (and Monday for African Culture Fest)
Greeters and Passport Activity: 9:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and 1:30 to 5 p.m.
Crafts: Noon to 4 p.m.
Sunday
Greeters and Passport Activity: 10:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and 2:30 to 6 p.m.
Crafts: Noon to 4 p.m.
Setup: 7 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays
Cleanup: 5 to 8 p.m. on Sundays (for African Culture Fest, cleanup is on Monday.)
Visitor Services
Visitor Services Ambassador
Our Ambassadors embody the essence of superior customer service. From first impressions to farewells, this group of volunteers make a positive and lasting impression on our visitors. Individuals must be outgoing, friendly and possess the ability to communicate with groups of all sizes and abilities. Duties will include assisting with welcoming guests and school groups, answering questions and prividing directional information, asisting with table accommodations during lunch time, scanning tickets, checking memberships and distributing promotional materials.
Shift Times:
Morning and afternoon shifts available, 7 days a week during Museum hours
