Cincinnati Museum Center offers free Insights programs
Ancient Egyptian bugs on July 21 and screening of Ohio River swim film July 22

CINCINNATI –This month, we’re offering insight through back-to-back events at Cincinnati Museum Center.

July 21- Ancient Egyptian Entomology
Gene Kritsky joins us from the department of biology at the College of Mount St. Joseph to make you think about ancient Egypt in a much different kind of way. What kinds of insects inhabited Cleopatra’s ancient world? Discover the creepy, crawly side of ancient Egypt during his lecture, Ancient Egyptian Entomology on Thursday, July 21. This free lecture takes place at 7:30 p.m. in Reakirt Auditorium.

July 22- Wider than the River film screening
On Friday, July 22 we’re screening the documentary Wider than the River, which is sure to inspire you. In the film, Mimi Hughes, swimmer, teacher and activist, sets off to swim the length of the Ohio River in support of education and life skills for women and girls. To reach her goal, she must swim 20 miles a day, 6 days a week for 57 days – totaling 981 miles. You’ll get the chance to meet Mimi and purchase the DVD, of which 50% of sales will be donated to organizations that support women and girls educations and life skills.
