Inspired by Anne celebrates the life and work of Anne Wainscott
Exhibit opens July 16 at Cincinnati Museum Center

CINCINNATI – Cincinnati Museum Center, current home to the blockbuster exhibit, Cleopatra: The Search for the Last Queen of Egypt welcomes its second powerful fashionista to the building this summer. In partnership with Landor Associates, Inspired by Anne honors the work of Anne Wainscott, fashion illustrator for Shillito’s Department Store and the Cincinnati Enquirer for nearly five decades. The exhibit, celebrating the 94-year-old Covington resident, will open on Saturday, July 16 in the South Gallery, located in the Cincinnati History Museum.

Inspired by Anne originally appeared inside Landor’s lobby and as a fashion window on Race Street from April to July in 2010, opening during Cincinnati’s first ever Fashion Week. This location was particularly meaningful because Landor is located in what was once Shillito’s Department Store where Wainscott’s work was originally created.

At Museum Center, the exhibit will once again inspire visitors and the community throughout the summer. Guests will be able view some of Ms. Wainscott’s original sketches, artwork and hand-made garments and experience a replica of her studio. Also on display are modern day garments created by Landor employees as reinterpretations of popular P&G brands including Tide, Old Spice, Venus and brandSAVER.

Stop by Museum Center between July 16 and September 4 to see how you, too, can be Inspired by Anne. Admission is free for Members and included in an All Museums Pass. Visit www.cincymuseum.org or call (513) 287-7000 for more information.
